What is TruFlex™ Canola?

TruFlex canola will allow canola growers to maximise their crop's yield potential through unmatched weed control, enhance crop safety, and greater flexibility to manage weeds.

Many weeds, including the key weeds annual ryegrass and wild radish, can germinate multiple times and these subsequent germinations can occur outside the current window of application of Roundup brand herbicides. TruFlex canola is the second-generation weed control product offering growers greater flexibility through an extended application window up to first flower and an opportunity to apply Roundup Ready Herbicide with PLANTSHIELD by Monsanto at higher rates for enhanced weed control.

TruFlex Canola will provide growers with the option to apply Roundup Ready Herbicide with PLANTSHIELD by Monsanto at higher rates for enhanced weed control from emergence to first flower (50% of plants have one flower)

 

How TruFlex Canola Works

TruFlex canola builds on the technology of Roundup Ready canola. It contains the same CP4 EPSPS gene but the gene expression is enhanced by the addition of a new promoter sequence. This gives increased tolerance to glyphosate and as a result, it provides canola growers greater flexibility with glyphosate applications. TruFlex Canola Available in 2019*

TruFlex canola will be launched in high yielding, hybrid varieties in the 2019 season*. Prior to launch, Australian farmers will have the opportunity to see the performance of TruFlex canola in NVT and seed company trial sites and demonstrations in the 2018 season.
